Nestled in the little town of Stonington, CT lies a place where horses are assisting America's finest men and women in their journey towards healing. Veterans Equine Therapeutic Services, commonly referred to as VETS, has harnessed horsepower to bring veterans and horses together utilizing equine assisted programs to tackle physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. This 501C3 non-profit organization relies heavily on support offered through financial contributions and both time and equipment donations We were able to sit down with the program's founder, Craig McCalister, to learn more about this amazing program.
